The Argumentative Temporal Style in Surah Ya-Sin

Abstract

This research explores the concept of the "Argumentative Temporal Style in Surah Yaseen." Its significance lies in unveiling the Quranic inimitability (I'jaz), which transcends the conventional perception of time as a mere transient vessel, transforming it into an active, inferential, and argumentative structure capable of overcoming the obstinacy of deniers. The study aims to trace the mechanisms of employing temporal dimensions and to analyze their persuasive impact in substantiating the doctrine of Resurrection. The research is structured into a theoretical prelude and two main sections: the first addresses the employment of singular linear temporalities, while the second examines complex temporal architectures. The study concludes with profound findings, most notably that the Quranic discourse re-engineers time to construct an impenetrable cognitive siege. This siege systematically dismantles the materialistic paradigm of the disbeliever, ultimately demonstrating the absolute Divine encompassment of all beginnings and ends.
