Abstract

Mycotoxins are among the most hazardous biological contaminants threatening food safety and animal production. This study aims to assess the transfer of aflatoxin B1 from feed to cow's milk and dairy products in western Libya. The study employed a systematic review of previous field studies. Results indicated that feed contamination ranged from 10% to 55%, while the aflatoxin M1 contamination rate in raw milk in western Libya reached 71.4%. Several samples exceeded the European Union permissible limits. The carry-over rate ranged from 1% to 6%. The findings indicate the necessity of implementing a comprehensive monitoring program for feed and dairy products to improve food safety in the region.
