Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of Financial Technology (FinTech) in enhancing the competitive advantage of commercial banks in light of digital transformation. It explores the concept of FinTech, its major applications in the banking sector, and its impact on improving banking performance and competitiveness. The study also analyzes the relationship between technological innovation and the ability of banks to achieve sustainable competitive advantages.

The findings indicate that FinTech has become a key driver of banking sector development by improving operational efficiency, reducing transaction costs, enhancing service quality, and increasing customer satisfaction. Furthermore, digital financial technologies, including digital banking, electronic payment systems, digital lending, and blockchain technology, have enabled commercial banks to expand their customer base, improve profitability, and strengthen their market position.

The study also highlights several challenges associated with FinTech adoption, such as cybersecurity risks, high digital transformation costs, and organizational resistance to change. Despite these challenges, the study concludes that adopting FinTech is no longer an option but a strategic necessity for commercial banks seeking to maintain sustainable competitive advantage in an increasingly digital and competitive financial environment.
