Social Self-Efficacy and its Relationship to Levels of Aspiration and Personal Responsibility in Adolescence: A Descriptive and Analytical Study

This study investigates the interrelationships among social self-efficacy, ambition level, and personal responsibility in adolescence, adopting a descriptive-analytical approach grounded in a critical reading of contemporary psychological literature. Drawing on Bandura's social cognitive theory, Lent et al.'s Social Cognitive Career Theory (SCCT), and recent empirical studies, the analysis reveals that social self-efficacy functions as a structural mediator—fuelling future-oriented aspirations while reinforcing responsible, self-regulated behaviour. The findings underscore an organic integration of the three constructs, with significant implications for counselling programme design and educational intervention.
