This research examines the impact of Sufism on the cultural, social, and political life in West Africa during the period from the 3rd to the 10th century AH/9th to 16th century AD, focusing on the influence of Sufism itself rather than the Sufi orders themselves. This is explored through three main themes. The first theme presents the historical background of Sufism, its components, Sufi orders, and the channels through which it spread to West Africa. The second theme discusses its impact on the development of cultural life and the entire educational process. The third theme explores the impact of Sufism on changing many of the pagan social beliefs, customs, and traditions. The fourth section clarifies the impact of Sufism on the political authorities. The research aims to analyze the role of Sufism in cultural and scientific development, the promotion of religious and ethical values, and the support of political stability in West African societies. The research problem revolves around clarifying how Sufism contributed to transforming Sufi lodges (Zawiyas) into centers of cultural and social integration, combining worship, education, and interaction with political authorities. The research results revealed that Sufism was not merely a religious practice in West Africa, but rather a significant force that contributed to the dissemination of knowledge and culture, strengthened social cohesion, regulated local politics, and consolidated the cultural and religious identity of the studied societies
