Solar or photovoltaic cells are devices that convert sunlight into electrical energy by utilizing the photoelectric effect. These cells are interconnected to form panels capable of power generation. This technology has evolved significantly over the past decades, becoming one of the most critical renewable energy sources worldwide. This research aims to investigate the feasibility of utilizing solar energy to power water pumps in date palm farms in the city of Wadden, located in the Al-Jufra region. This study is prompted by the region's abundant solar radiation, alongside challenges facing conventional energy sources, such as rising fuel costs and grid instability. The research covers the theoretical aspects of solar cell operation and the factors affecting their efficiency, including temperature and dust accumulation. Furthermore, it explores agricultural applications, specifically in water pumping systems. On the practical side, the power requirements for the pump were calculated, and an integrated solar system was designed to suit the region's environmental conditions. The results demonstrate that adopting solar energy in date palm farms is an effective and sustainable option, contributing to reduced operational costs, improved irrigation efficiency, and a mitigation of the environmental impacts associated with traditional energy source
