Anarchist Thought in Proudhon

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the philosophical structure of anarchist thought in Proudhon's work. Anarchist thought is considered one of the most important currents of modern political thought, and its emergence was linked to the major transformations of the 19th century with the rise of the modern centralized state and industrial capitalism.

From this perspective, Proudhon emerged as the first to give anarchism a philosophical dimension, linking it to a critique of authority. Proudhon rejected the continued existence of the state and worked to dismantle its foundations by all means, considering it an authoritarian system or institution whose sole purpose was to control individuals, plunder resources, and spread inequality and injustice among the people. Therefore, Proudhon formulated his ideas and political philosophy to establish a new social contract that would regulate political, social, and economic life and achieve the goals and aspirations that individuals strive for.
