The Jurisprudence of Da'wah in the Exegesis of Sheikh Abd al-Rahman ibn Nasir al-Sa'di: An Analytical and Applied Study

Abstract

This research examines “The Jurisprudence of Da‘wah in the Tafsir of Shaykh Abd al-Rahman ibn Nasir al-Sa‘di: An Analytical and Applied Study.” It investigates the Qur’anic foundations of Islamic preaching and extracts the principles, guidelines, and methodological aspects of Da‘wah presented in al-Sa‘di’s renowned tafsir Taysir al-Karim al-Rahman fi Tafsir Kalam al-Mannan.

The significance of this study lies in the distinctive characteristics of al-Sa‘di’s tafsir, particularly his emphasis on Qur’anic guidance, educational dimensions, and practical reform-oriented interpretations. His work represents a valuable source for understanding the principles of effective Da‘wah derived from the Qur’an.

The study aims to define the concept of the jurisprudence of Da‘wah, introduce al-Sa‘di’s interpretive methodology, identify the main Da‘wah principles found in his tafsir, and analyze their relevance to contemporary Islamic preaching. It also examines the characteristics of the preacher, the considerations related to the audience, the methods of Da‘wah, its obstacles, and possible solutions according to al-Sa‘di’s approach.

The research employs an inductive method by collecting relevant Qur’anic passages and interpretations from al-Sa‘di’s tafsir, an analytical method to examine his explanations, a deductive method to formulate Da‘wah principles, and an applied approach to connect these principles with contemporary issues.

The study concludes that al-Sa‘di’s tafsir contains an integrated Da‘wah methodology based on Qur’anic principles, emphasizing sincerity, knowledge, wisdom, compassion, patience, and consideration of the circumstances of those being addressed. It also demonstrates that the contemporary Da‘wah discourse can benefit greatly from these principles in addressing modern challenges.
