Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the efficiency of spirogyra algae in removing heavy metals (lead and cadmium)from weastwater.The results demonstrated a significabt decrease in lead concentration by approximately4.8% and in cadumiun by 42% in the treated water.Meanwhile,the algal tissues recorded elements,confirming the ability of these algae for biosorption and intracellular uptake.
