This study examines the symbolism of the grape in Roman thought across four pivotal chapters. The first chaptere explores the mythological roots and the association with the god Bacchus. The second chapter investigates the reflections of this symbolism on abundance and daily life. The third chapter focuses on the metaphysical dimension of the grape as a symbol of renewal and immortality within funerary rituals. Finally, the fourthchapter analyzes the social and political role of grapes and their presence in classical arts and literature. The study concludes that the greape functioned as a "bridge" connecting the physical and spiritual realms, as well as the individual and society, serving as a central element in reinforcing collective identity and political legitimcacy in ancient Rome .
