Abstract

This study aims to examine the impact of materials and techniques on the quality of plastic artwork by analyzing the interactive relationship between material and technique and its role in achieving aesthetic and expressive values in artistic production. The study adopts the descriptive-analytical approach, addressing key concepts related to materials, techniques, and artistic quality, in addition to reviewing and analyzing relevant previous studies to build a theoretical framework that clarifies the nature and dimensions of this interaction.

The research also explores the evolution of materials in the visual arts and the transformations in artistic techniques in light of technological advancement, highlighting their influence on reshaping the structure and methods of contemporary artistic practice. The findings indicate that the relationship between material and technique is a complementary one, directly contributing to enhancing artistic quality by achieving balance between form and content and emphasizing the aesthetic and expressive characteristics of the artwork.

The study concludes that awareness of material properties and the appropriate selection of techniques significantly improve artistic quality, while the diversity in employing materials and techniques enriches artistic experience and strengthens the aesthetic value of plastic artworks. It also emphasizes the importance of the technical effect as an artistic signature that reflects the artist’s individuality and stylistic identity.
