تتناول هذه الدراسة موضوع الضغوط النفسية التي تعانيها أمهات الأطفال المصابين باضطراب فرط الحركة وتشتت الانتباه، وانعكاس هذه الضغوط على منظومة العلاقات داخل الأسرة، اعتمدت الدراسة على المنهج الوصفي التحليلي في مراجعة الأدبيات النظرية والتطبيقية ذات الصلة، بهدف بناء تصور متكامل يفسر مصادر الضغط لدى الأم، وآليات انتقال أثره إلى العلاقة الزوجية وإلى بقية أفراد الأسرة، توصلت الدراسة، من خلال تحليل نتائج الدراسات السابقة، إلى أن الضغط الوالدي لدى أمهات هؤلاء الأطفال يفوق نظيره لدى أمهات الأطفال العاديين بفارق دال، وأن هذا الضغط يرتبط بعوامل وسيطة كالدعم الاجتماعي وشدة الأعراض ومدى الوعي بطبيعة الاضطراب، كما بيّنت الدراسة أن غياب التدخل المبكر يفاقم من هشاشة البناء الأسري ويهدد استقراره، وخلصت الدراسة إلى مجموعة من التوصيات العملية الموجهة للأسر وللمؤسسات المعنية بالصحة النفسية والخدمة الاجتماعية.
